About Us

The European Mortgage Federation - European Covered Bond Council (EMF-ECBC) is the voice of EU mortgage lenders and the international covered bond community in discussions with the European Institutions and stakeholders in general on all issues relating to the retail and funding sides of the mortgage business. The overarching aim of the EMF-ECBC is to ensure a sustainable housing finance environment for EU citizens.

The EMF-ECBC supports the European economy and facilitates access to capital markets by promoting long-term funding and mortgage origination techniques. This is achieved through the provision of an intelligence platform where initiatives are debated, legislative proposals are discussed and best practices are exchanged with a view to adopting common positions. The EMF-ECBC provides the market and stakeholders with unique and timely legal, economic, statistical and research information. The EMF-ECBC also serves as a think-tank and incubator for the mortgage industry, offering an environment in which new ideas are born and market-led initiatives can be developed
